Here’s an easy way to search engine optimize your logo in your WordPress theme. What we are doing is creating a conditional tag that will give your logo a level one heading if your on the home page, but will assign a paragraph tag on all other pages. Just make sure your logo file is named logo.png and is inside a folder called images located in your theme folder. Then just replace the call for your logo, which is most likely in your header.php, file with this code.
<php if (is_home()) { ?>
<h1><a href="<?php bloginfo(‘url’); ?>"><img src="<?php bloginfo(‘template_directory’); ?>/images/logo.png" alt="<?php bloginfo(‘name’); ?>" /></a></h1>
<?php } else { ?>
<p><a href="<?php bloginfo(‘url’); ?>"><img src="<?php bloginfo(‘template_directory’); ?>/images/logo.png" alt="<?php bloginfo(‘name’); ?>" /></a></p>
<?php } ?>
It’s that easy and will help better organize your content so search engines will best know what’s important in your site. Do you have any SEO coding tips you like to use with WordPress? Share them with us in the comments.

You can actually add this to most any theme you’re using, so there’s no reason to be left out.
